We are now in South Africa on our journey to Tanzania wich will be in 4 days. I’ve just come back from a 3 day boy camp filled with all sorts of fun. A christian man named Gareth talked to us about having an adventure filled life. He told us that a christian man needs three things in his life given by God and the three enemies of those things.
1.An Adventure to live 1. Fear
2.A Battle to Fight 2. Religion
3.A Beauty to save 3. Culture
This means that we can’t have an Adventure to live if we are to scared to! We can’t have a battle to fight if religion stands in our way. By that I mean if you are too religious then that’s a bad thing! You’ll need to be abled to worship God properly wich means you’ll need a guitar and drums and you’ll need to be abled to shout out loud to God showing how much you love him! If you were too religious than you would need to be quite and sit up straight and you would’nt be abled to express your love to Jesus in an incredbly religious church! Culture is an enemy because you can make your life extremely boring and get bored one day and it can get you into alot of trouble. One day king David was walking on his roof and what was he? Bored! He was supposed to be at war we his men but he was being lazy and stayed behind and that made him get into alot of trouble! Next thing you know he looked over to the next roof and saw a good looking girl having a bath! He then had sex with that girl and she got pregnant! She was already married but he was king so she could’nt say no! He wanted to hide his sin from everyone so he told the man that he could come back and visit her so it looked like while he visited her he made her pregnant! But the man felt guilty about leaving his friends in war and never entered the gates but instead stayed outside showing his loyalty to the army. This made King David angry so he then tried to plot a way to kill the man. David talked to the leader of the army and told him to put the man in the front line and if things started to look bad and like they might die that the rest of the army left and the man would stay behind to fight by himself. The man was killed and David payed greatly for his sins when God punished him! This is a way you can get in trouble through culture. If you make your life filled with video games and computer you can get in alot of trouble when you get bored and do bad things. Some kids get bored by culture and then get into drugs,smoking,alcohol and even sex. Gareth told us that as christians we need to go out there and do things and actually feed the hungry comfort the homeless and clean the dirty. These things give us an adventure to live day by day. God wants us to do these things and be great people!

I was advised by my youth leader not to go to see the Golden Compass because the whole trilogy is about a boy and a girl trying to defeat God and at the end of the trilogy they win and they beat God and don’t need to listen to anyone and can do whatever they want. The man who wrote the books is trying to get young children to believe that there is no God. This man is very angry at God and at C.S.Lewis for making the Chronicles of Narnia wich is a christian series of books. It’s not something I’m telling you that you can’t watch because as christian we still need to work through the evil in this world.That is what I learned!
