We recently helped one of our TJF workers, Silas, when he contracted Malaria, by taking him to the clinic and paying for his blood work and meds. $9.50 for both!!! but he couldn’t afford it.
Also, he recently asked us to pray for his family who have no food due to the lack of rains in his village. Their bean and maize crops have failed and there is nothing to eat.
We prayed for rain and sent him home with a loaf of bread..... so little and yet he was so grateful... plus that night it rained.. Zac was so blessed and so was Silas. It has continued to rain on and off since then...
Before he came to work at Engedi, Silas was a simple goat herder and farmer, barely making enough to eat. He has been trained in Agriculture and David and I now help to sponsor him a couple of days a week. He is a young man with a ready smile and humble servant heart- a real joy!
