The Famine Continues to bite....

It seems that the original estimate of 8 weeks till the new maize crop is ready was a little ambitious. In fact, grain is not usually harvested until September!!!!
Consequently, we are bracing to make sure that our financial support for the villagers lasts tell the end. Currently, we are giving $1000 US per week which is feeding around 98 families which is about 38 more families than we had first estimated...Praise God, however, 100 more go away hungry. We are hoping that we can continue this support for the next few months.

Thanks so much for giving. The people are so sweet and thankful. They have a spiritual hunger and passion that is daunting! Fasting is a regular discipline for them.... even when they do have a choice. When they pray you can feel the effect. In their church service they dance with passion in their tiny wooden church.

There are others who also receive grain who do not go to the church or even know God. Hopefully, this message of God's love will bless them in their time of need.

Good to read how you have been able to support so many families- always hard though when some go home still hungry - will keep praying for you all.

So true, Margie. They'd almost all be going away hungry were it not for the support we're able to channel their way. We're grateful, but how much more are those families.
BTW - must hear about the Easter Camp one of these days...
Thanks for your prayers - blessings on you and the family.
