charcoal burners and gas cookers....

This was one of the analogies one of the women delegates used when describing the sexual relationship btw a husband and a wife. She was one of the 30 women who attended our women's conference this last week. She made this comment in the context of sharing how God had given her such a transformed marriage due to the breaking of old traditional African paradigms. She now enjoyed her marriage and her husband and she described their sex life as oil in the engine. Her comment above shows her new understanding of the difference in male and female physiology. She was a 57 yr old pastors wife who was encouraging other to enjoy the freedom she did. Many others shared how shameful they had believed their bodies to be and that sex was just for procreation or that women were only valued if they produced children. We used one session to discuss the importance of sex in marriage and that it was God's wonderful idea.

The women also had teaching on breaking rejection, forgiving others, religious laws vs the freedom of a love relationship with Jesus and intimacy vs traditions.

All of these lovely african women were excited to be at the conference and wrote every word down and asked for notes to share with their churches.

As for me, after 7 days of teaching with my friend Lois I am exhausted but happy...

keep praying for these ladies and their freedom!
