After many excuses and lots of avoidance, Zac finally decided that he would be a strict teacher and use more than gentle persuasion with his pupil....
Ednecki was pushed and pulled, laughing, outside to learn to ride her bike which she was given as a gift back in February. No more "but I have grass to cut" " but I have to milk the cow" or "maybe another day"!!! Zac was in no mood to listen. His time at home here is running out and this task has been on his list since February.
Ednecki murmured "pole sana mimi" "mimi nina kale walimu" translated "sorry for me" "I have a fierce teacher"
Zac proceeded to model, instruct, encourage and cajole Ednecki for the next 40 minutes.
She laughed her way thru the whole exercise with tears streaming down her face at times from the joy of success!! After just 40 minutes she was riding downhill by herself..... in fact hurtling toward nearby trees and hedges with incredible speed only to stop within centimeters of the tree with peals of laughter.
Zac would patiently re-iterate the braking process and she watched attentively but it proved too tempting to use those long legs to brake with .... forget the foot or hand brakes...
Later, Zac and Ednecki returned happy and sweaty feeling they had accomplished an amazing feat!! ... and they had.
