Today, we were made honorary Masai!!

We were invited to visit a nearby church this sunday for a surprise. When we arrived we discovered that the church that is responsible for distributing all the maize to the nearby villagers had decided to honor us by making us masai to show their thanks for all the grain they had received and distributed.

Many of the people who have been recipients of this generous gift are masai women and it was these women that organised a thankyou blessing.

We explained that we were just messengers of blessing and that the money for maize had been sent from all over the world. Many had prayed for help when they were unable to feed their families and so it was wonderful to be able to tell them that God had spoken to people from Canada, Australia, America, England, New Zealand and other countries to supply their need.

They were very thankful to God and also to all those who gave. They also wanted to thank the messengers... us. We were each given masai gifts and jewellery. First Judi received a garland, a beautiful pair of beaded earrings and a masai blanket that the women wear. David was next and he received a shuka and a cross made of masai beads and ornaments. Justine and Zac were also honored and made a part of this masai community.

Truly it has been an honor to represent the generous heart of God through his people. Thanks for your giving. Come and try on our shukas, anytime....
