Returning Zac to RVA...... travel in Africa

Zac's new dorm parents - Sue and Andrew Faber and their daughters Hannah and Bea

The last Zebra of the herd, crosses the road, close to our car

A herd of Zebra cross the road in front of us during our drive back to Arusha outside the village of Olooloitikosh (Maasai for Zebra)

Traveling back to RVA with Zac this last week had all of the challenges one faces on roads in Kenya and Tanzania and some of the beauty.

The roads are so terrible on our 5 hour trip to RVA that usually our car needs repair after the trip, even if you are careful and drive slowly.... there are just too many potholes or bumps or craters to avoid them all. Add to this our lack of air conditioning and very dry dusty roads and you arrive at your destination very dusty. Often after driving I am astonished to see that when I wash my hair with clear water it turns black from rinsing out all the dirt.

Apart from these little inconveniences there are some wonderful experiences to be had. For instance, we came across two whole herd of zebra on our drive home, that galloped across the road in front of us. What a wonderful sight....

This trip was successful in that Zac arrived at RVA, excited to go back to school and even though he now has new dorm parents he was not very sad at us leaving.

His previous dorm parents needed to head back to the USA due to family crises that had arisen. Zac will miss the Sossamons but is already giving positive feedback about how wonderful his new dorm parents/ family are.

The Fabers are from Canada and have been praying for an opportunity like this. God has led them sovereignly to this new position and we are all lifting them up in prayer for God's grace for this transition.

Please add them to your prayers along with Zac so that this next term is filled with God's goodness and grace.
