Inside Pastor Joseph's church in Tengeru...
A house for the first widow....
The second widow outside her old hut with her new house just in view.... with her daughter and mother....
On Sunday, we had the privilege of visiting the almost-finished, new homes for 2 widows that Arusha Vineyard have built.
One woman had been living with her mother-in-law after the death of her husband with her 3 children. A lot of friction in a very small space.
The other widow, has one child and recently was honoured by the community of other widows as the widow showing the most exemplary behaviour.
Earlier that morning we had visited a local church in Tengeru who monitored the construction of the 2 homes for us. The service was long and the music amazing. One small girl was unable to take her eyes off me during the service and punched anyone who got between her and her view of me... a little disconcerting when you are trying to worship.
There were many testimonies of God's healing, provision and protection.
David preached while Judi and an african friend used puppets and managed to share about God's love overcoming fear to the group of riveted children - in Swahili, no less....
Zac was poked and prodded by many children who wanted to see what a white boy felt like. He smiled graciously through it all. A true missionary.
