Smooth roads, traffic lights, pre-packaged meals in supermarkets and shiny cars!!

So many things that I have forgotten about..... so many things to wonder over!!!

This is our first visit to the first world since November 2007!!
So much has changed since we last visited PE. Many buildings and shopping malls have been built....

We walked along the beautiful beach front of Sardinia bay for about 5 kms this morning and then quickly popped into a supermarket and a fruit market.

In Arusha, we shop at a tiny little supermarket and our choices are very limited but certainly not bad. We go to the one butcher shop in town that we trust and our worker assists us by going to the local market to get fresh fruit and vegetables for us. This saves us quite a bit of money and it is all tossed into a large basket which she carries on her head. It then has to be washed thoroughly and is quite time consuming.

Here we walk into aisles and aisles of shelves with special places for making smoothies and a specialty pizza section and then a section for choosing different pasta dishes and sauces.... WOW - culture shock for sure.... and loving it.

We have the rest of the week here in PE and then we are off to Joburg. We are hoping we might we able to buy some clothes .... not possible in Arusha except at the second hand market... which I have done.... but if not, it has been amazing to be part of church life here again and experience the presence of God in worship.... feel very blessed.
