Orphanage needs prayer

The orphanage behind our property is having a battle.
The history is that an american woman who is a hair dresser came to Tanzania and was moved by the plight of children with AIDS. SHe decided to start an orphanage. She partnered with a Tanzanian woman who promised that she would manage the house, children and funds.

Although the american woman had some reservations, she dismissed these and proceeded. She raised funds for a house and land. Here in Tz, only Tanzanians can own land and the land and house were purchased in the Tanzanian woman's name. More money was sent for food, medicine, books, dvd players, games etc.

Over time it became obvious that not all of the money was getting to bless the children.

Recently, 2 children died and then on Christmas day another child died. Since then the american woman has enlisted the help of others to see if she can fight this woman who has been found to be beating the children, accumulating funds for her own business ventures, using the minibus for her own business etc.

So far the woman has been jailed and released numerous times. Unfortunately, just when it seemed she would be relieved of her office she managed to have her sentence overturned. Sometimes, justice in Tanzania depends on how much money you pay the judge.

Sadly, the children are in the middle. Food is no longer able to be delivered to them until the legal battle is over. They have been living on Ugali (a taste-free starch dish made from cornflour. Anyone that approaches the orphanage are chased away and the security guards are contacted.

Pray for this ordeal to be over soon for these 16 children.
