Teddies for preschoolers; t-shirts for college goers; soccerballs and soap bars….
It felt like Christmas for the residents of Loiborsoit preschool and vocational college. They were treated to new teddies (for the children) and t-shirts, soccer shorts and soccer balls for the college students.
The beading ladies were tending their families and gathering water so were not able to visit with us, so unfortunately, only 2 ladies received the beautiful kikoy (shawl) that was a gift for them due to money raised at the garage sale in Australia, recently.
Mama Porkea and Johnny’s wife were the 2 women who were totally blessed to receive their beautiful shawls. They are not given gifts very often. Mostly, if there is extra money it will be spent on food or water or essentials. Gifts especially fabric are something the women love and really value. The other ladies will receive theirs the next time we visit Emboret.
