Our dog Jigger from Canada was not kept for the journey to Africa but instead was given away for these reasons:
#1. As you all know he is a Canadian dog and would not be able to survive the heat of Africa, Tanzania!
#2.My mom (Judi Owens) looked up the airlines and how are dog would be treated and she saw 2 airlines saying they had a record for only 2 dogs dying since March! By this time March was hardly a month ago! One of the dogs died of suffocation so they advised not to put fluffy blankets in with your dog! The second dog died of old age in the plane!
#3. All the dogs in Africa were mostly all guard dogs that would rip our dog to pieces! As you know we were very worried about that!
So now we come to our conclusion: What did we do with Jigger?
We gave him away!
We looked for different people to give him to but we could not find the right person! So we finally moved in to someone’s house just for the time being and they suggested a lady in the church they went to!
We decided to give it a try and gave him to her for a couple of days for a trial and he came back wearing a new color with “Jiggers” written on it! To this day she calls him “Jiggers” but it’s so close to his name he doesn’t mined! We gave hi to her because she loved him so much and he seemed to be very comfortable with her in a matter of days! She gives him wet food and apparently he loves it we never gave it to him but now we know he loves it! We love him lots but he’s better off!
Sincerely yours,
The Owner Zac
