I just found out that A braai is a word for barbeque that they use in South Africa!
They love invitng people to braais and watching rugby! Lately South Africa won against Argentina for the semi-finals.
We had a braai on Friday night where we ate something like deer that they call Kudus!
Our hosts also told us that in Malawi the locals eat rats on a stick and that we were lucky they did'nt serve us that!
The owners of the Household had two extremely wonderful and cute dogs!
One was a Great Dane called Askot and the other was a cross between a Jack-Russell and a Staffordshire who was called Tex! It was alot of fun to play with them! They also had a duck and chickens & the next day we went on a walk with them on the big Sand Dunes and on there way out they nearly ran over a turtle but instead of
waiting for him to cross the road they kindly picked him up and put him on the side of the road wich shows they are real animal lovers!
Soon we get to go see some elephants and I'm really excited!
Sincerly yours,
Zac :-)

Hi Zac,
So glad that you all arrived safely in SA - and on my Birthday too! Hope they also fed you 'boerewors' at the braai? It is local 'farmers-sausage' and when made with the right mix of meat and spices is really yummy. Wait until you see a Kudu bull in the wild - they have magnificent antlers/horns.
While you and Diane watch something on the computer in my lounge I thought I would say - what a good story you wrote on the "Braai and 2 Dogs" - can't remember if you said the one dog is more like a horse than a dog!!!!
We will miss your cheery face around the house tomorrow.
I look forward to reading your next article.
