Giving is receiving... by Justine

One day while helping out at the Human Dignity Center, I got the privilege to be a chaperone for the children for a Christmas day field trip, hosted by "Vodacom". Vodacom did not hold back. There was professional face painting, cotton candy (fairy floss for you fellow Australians), jumping castles, train rides, t-shirts, hats, candy, hamburgers, chips, juice, clowns, a visit from Santa Claus, each child got an individual present, and a bag full of goodies to take home. The children were so blessed and so was I by being able to witness such generosity. The kids had so much fun! Some of the younger ones started to fade by the end of the day. After the sugar had been totally burned off I'd find them sprawled out in different areas totally unconscious with fatigue and all with faces painted all different colours. It was such a great day. Being able to witness these under privileged kids being lavished upon was such an amazing experience that I'll never forget!! What else really impressed me was that there was no media, no press, no advertisement of their generosity. THey did it for the kids and the kids alone.
